Short Biography

Dr. Md Azizul Haque is an accomplished scientist and researcher with a passion for population and quantitative genetics, and bioinformatics. He was born in Dhamrai, Dhaka, Bangladesh in 1991, and has since then dedicated himself to pursuing excellence in both his academic and professional pursuits.

He began his academic journey by completing his Primary and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in 2002 and 2007, respectively, from Dhamrai, Dhaka. He then went on to pursue his Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (HSC) in 2009 at BPATC (Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre) School & College in Savar, Dhaka.

Driven by a passion for animal breeding and genetics, he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Husbandry and Master of Science degree in Animal Breeding and Genetics from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh, achieving outstanding marks in 2014 and 2015, respectively. His academic achievements and commitment to excellence earned him a prestigious fellowship from Yeungnam University in the Republic of Korea in 2018 to pursue his Ph.D. studies in Animal Molecular Bioinformatics.

Throughout his doctoral studies, he made noteworthy contributions to the realm of bioinformatics, particularly in the development of innovative computational methods to create novel algorithms and analytical tools for large-scale genomic data analysis. He successfully completed his Ph.D. in February 2023 and was awarded the degree from the College of Life and Applied Sciences, Yeungnam University, Republic of Korea. He achieved an outstanding GPA of 4.50 out of 4.50 (equivalent to an average mark of 96.0/100) in his Ph.D. coursework.

From 1 April 2023, he has been appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, College of Life and Applied Sciences at Yeungnam University, Republic of Korea. He brings with him an impressive academic background and a wealth of experience in the field of Bioinformatics and Genomics. Prior to his appointment, he worked as a Post-doctoral Researcher in the Bioinformatics Laboratory, College of Life and Applied Sciences, Yeungnam University, Republic of Korea from March 1 2023 to March 31 2023, where he made significant contributions to ongoing research projects. He continues his research and scholarly activities in this new role, and he is committed to using his expertise to make a positive impact on society through his work at Yeungnam University.

He specializes in the programming languages necessary for big data analysis, including Python, R, Perl, Linux, and Bash/Shell scripting. With his extensive knowledge of these languages, he is able to effectively collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to uncover valuable insights and inform decision-making processes. As his major pertains to population genetics and population bioinformatics, he possesses a strong background in statistics and is adept at developing models using a wide range of statistical methodologies (including single-trait and multi-traits mixed model analysis) for economically important traits in livestock species (Korean Hanwoo, Holstein, Pigs, Chicken, and dog). He is also actively involved in learning and implementing cutting-edge Machine Learning (ANN, CNN) and Deep Learning approaches to tackle recent issues in Animal Breeding.

In addition to his programming skills, he is also an excellent website designer. He has a keen eye for design and a deep understanding of user experience. He is able to create visually stunning and intuitive websites that effectively communicate your message and engage your audience.

Beyond his academic pursuits, he is known for his strong work ethic, creativity, and collaborative nature.
